Houston in the middle of July is hot, hot, hot, and now so are these deals. Though yard work is probably the last thing you want to do right now, there’s plenty to be done inside — and these deals will make the work worth it.
Check out our weekly round-up of the best home improvement deals in Houston — and get shopping!
You don’t have to be a home improvement professional to take advantage of Lowe’s Pro Bonus Days. Now through July 19, Lowe’s is offering great deals on a number of products the pros swear by. From caulk to extension cords, these select products for the bathroom, kitchen and other spots around the home make home upkeep a breeze.
Last week, Lowe’s had great deals on appliances, and those savings are continuing this week. From now until July 24, shoppers can get up to 30% off select appliances including refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves and much more.
Lowe’s is also a great place to start building your dream home — your dream smart home, that is. From now until September 4, Lowe’s is offering a free mini Google Home with any purchase of a Nest digital thermostat.
These digital thermostats help you control the heating and cooling of your home digitally. You can control your thermostat from a digital wallpad or on your phone or tablet. Want to turn on the air before you get home? Open the app on your phone and get the house cooled before you walk in. Best of all, Nest learns and adapts to your preferences. If you like to turn the air off or on at a certain time each day, your Nest will notice this pattern and start doing it automatically. In a way, your home becomes tailored to you.
Like Lowe’s, Home Depot is also continuing its sale on appliances, but now the big-box retailer has other sales to shop.
Just recently, Home Depot got into the furniture and decor game. Now thousands of Home Depot locations sell furniture and other home products, making them one-stop-shop destinations for everything home related. This week, Home Depot is having a sale on its furniture, so if you were unsure about it, now is a good time to try it out at a lower price.
From furniture to wall decor to flatware, Home Depot is offering up to 30% off its furniture and home goods products. On of our favorite picks would have to be the storage options available, such as the tall two-door cabinets or the shorter four-drawer file cabinets. Both provide plenty of room for storage, but they look sleek and minimalistic — perfect for a home office.
But that’s not all that’s available in terms of storage. Home Depot also had great deals on bins, baskets and containers in all shapes, materials and sizes. Wool and wicker baskets look stylish, but they’ll also hold extra blankets and toys.
Houston Garden Centers
Spring isn’t the only time for planting. Some flowers and planting should actually be done in the summer and fall. That’s why Houston Gardens Centers is offering half off plants this week — all plants, trees and shrubs, to be exact. As their ad says, if it’s green, it’s half off.
This is a great time to get all sorts of plants, such as azaleas and 3- and 7-gallon shrubs. It may be too late to plant some of the trees and shrubs, but in the large gallon containers, you can put them on your deck or patio this year and plant them in the summer. For those unsure what to buy, be sure to grab an associate for help.
Houston Garden Centers is also offering half off all garden pots, urns and accessories. These decorative pots let you put flowers wherever you’d like around your patio.
And of course, Houston Garden Centers has everyone’s favorite on sale: mulch. Laying down mulch in a flower bed will help stop weeds from growing and retain moisture in the ground. Whether you need to do the whole yard or just spruce up a few spots, you can get five bags for $12 or at $2.99 per bag.
If you’re planning to sell your home in the near future or just want to spruce up your lawn, this sale will help you stock up and save while you make your lawn look beautiful.
Each week, At Home: The Home Decor Superstore puts out a flash find, which they offer for just one week. Now ending July 23, shoppers can pick up comforter sets for as low as $24.99.
A new comforter set can make a bedroom feel like new again. These five-piece sets come with the larger comforter plus four pillow shams for accent pillows. Sizes previewed are king sets, but there may been queen and other sizes available in your local store.
But you can get this deal in stores only, so make sure you stop in an At Home this week.
As the summer starts to wind down — though you’d never know it from the temperature out there — home improvement stores start marking down outdoor furniture and lighting to make way for next year’s stock. This week at True Value, you can save big on outdoor patio furniture and accessories.
Right now, we’re loving the patio bistro sets that True Value has on sale. These three-piece sets create an intimate dining spot on your patio or down by the pool. When the sun goes down, you and your partner can enjoy a glass of wine together as you watch the sun go down. These sets are available for as low as $135, so don’t wait.
If a two-person table is just not enough for you, True Value also has select outdoor dining tables and chairs on sale. These table and chair sets can make outdoor dining relaxing when everyone has space to sit down and eat together. You can buy chairs and tables separately on sale and build your own set or you can purchase five- and seven-piece sets on sale.
Plus don’t forget about all the cool accessories on sale. Patio umbrellas offer shade and comfort from the hot sun, and now that they’re on sale, you can stock up and cover you patio or pool in shade. Hammocks are also on sale. If you’ve ever wanted to build your own reading nook in the backyard, there’s nothing like a hammock to make you feel relaxed as you read.
You won’t find these deals in stores. Head online and check out these great deals.
Room & Board
Love the American-made look? Want to get a good deal on furniture? Then now is the time to head to Room & Board’s website, where they’re offering major discounts on furniture, lighting, rugs and home decor.
Though all of those deals are worth a look, the furniture categories offer a wide range of options for just about every room in your house — living, dining, home office, bedrooms, kids rooms and even outdoors. All the furniture featured is discontinued, so this is a great time to stock up on gorgeous styles.
As back-to-school is just around the corner, take a look at the kids bedroom offerings for great deals on beds, cribs and even storage options.
The online home furnishings behemoth, Wayfair covers every category of home design — and then some.
This week, Wayfair is showing its best deals on rugs of all shapes and sizes, so if your rug is showing its age, then it’s time to replace it. Here you’ll find rugs of all colors, sizes and styles. Going for an earthy, neutral look? Wayfair has all types of styles from traditional to contemporary to fit your neutral need. Want a big statement rug for your living room? Wayfair has 8×10 inch rugs on sale. Even small-space rugs are on sale.
Some parts of True Value’s outdoor sale are only happening online, but that doesn’t mean you can’t stock up and save.
Now patio furniture often matters most to home buyers, but True Value also has outdoor lighting, decorative and functional, on sale online only. It’s an overlooked category, but good lighting along your back patio can really make a difference.
To make your patio glow, try hanging string lights around the perimeter. True Value has several sets available on sale in different styles to meet your preferences. Choose from more glamorous contemporary styles or nautical, traditional looks. You can even go a little funky with flamingo lights — perfect for an outdoor party.
There are also flameless and solar options available. True Value has lanterns with LED flameless candles inside that can move around your patio as easily as you do. With a flameless candle, you won’t have to worry about an accidental fire or leaving the candle lit all night.
With solar lights, simply place them in the ground or hang when around your patio. They’ll soak up the sun all day, and at night, they’ll glow and light that way. True Value has decorative ones on sale in the shape of fireflies or butterflies.
Why we love home improvement sales
The happiest homeowners are the ones that take good care of their homes and property. They take pride in keeping their flower beds blooming and their furniture in good condition. But we know — probably better than anyone — that keeping up with a home can be expensive. From small costs like paint from the stairs to big renovation projects, we know that home improvement and repair can be pricey.
That’s why each week, Advantage Pro Services brings you this round up of weekly deals. We know how hard you work to keep your home in tip-top shape, and we want to be part of that process beyond our pressure washing services in Houston. As home improvement experts, we know where you should look for a deal — and where you should invest your money.
Take pressure washing services in Houston, for instance. Whether you’re doing your house, deck or driveway, you need professionals who can do the job right the first time. When our experts arrive at your house, they first do a check to look for any places where water might leak into your home. If everything looks good, they start the pressure washing services to get your house looking shiny and new.
Now pressure washing services are a big part of keeping your home in good condition, and having it done at least once a year matters for a number of reasons. For one thing, it helps with your home’s curb appeal. If you’re trying to sell your home, then you know how first impressions can make or break a sale. When prospective home buyers arrive, you want them to be floored by your home. Regular pressure washing services keeps your home looking bright.
It’s also a matter of health for your home. Overtime, mold, mildew and other things can grow on your home, potentially spreading indoors if they find a way in. But good power washing services target those spots where mold might be growing. Our experts have the tools to get rid of mold without damaging your home.
And of course, pressure washing services can clean your hard-to-reach windows. After all, how many times have you tried to look out some of the windows on your top floor only to have to look around the smudges and watermarks? It can be a hassle, but regular pressure washing services will keep your windows clear.
All this to say: Keeping up with home repairs and improvements can be time-consuming and costly, but when there’s a good opportunity to save a little money, it’s always worth it. That’s why we at Advantage Pro Services always has your back.
